How is this more than a side table?

The Station Side Table is designed to store enough logs to maintain at least 1 fire pit burn, and holds various fire pit accessories so you have them close by.

Can you put hot accessories on the top surface?

No, it is not resistant to extreme heat. Do not put accessories that have been exposed to prolonged heat/flame on the faux wood.

No, the Station Side Table is designed to store your essentials to make the most of your fire pit, but not the fire pit itself.

Can it fit my Mesa tabletop fire pit?

The Lower Storage Area will fit Mesa and Mesa XLs when not in use, however we do not recommend using a lit Mesa or Mesa XL on the Top Shelf, as stray embers can damage the Top Shelf material.
